If there was an option to put "0" for quality, value, and service, that is exactly what "Tomato" deserves. First off, new ownership entails creating a whole new dining experience complete with a new menu and perhaps new design... NOT taking "Tomato" out of the former "Tomato Pie Company" as the new name and claiming unwavering know-how of Italian food.
1) We ordered appetizers at 7:50pm and received them at 8:45pm - food took forever!
2) In the meantime we were served NO BREAD - I even asked for some and the server said it came with the meal...WTF? ??!!!
3) Out apps came out...then the bread 2 minutes later!??
4) My friend and I wanted a caesar but they had no vodka...
5) Another friend ordered 2 different salads and sent them back because they were terrible! Who screws up a salad? We all tasted them and they were overly lemony, too spicy (jalepenos), and had soy sauce that didn't blend in!
6) We wanted more bread but the server said it would be an extra $4...IT'S FLIPPING BREAD!
7) Then all of a sudden we got FREE bread with our entrees - NO EXPLANATION
8) Bills came out and my salad friend was charged for a salad THAT SHE DID NOT EAT!The manager came out and said she had to pay for something. We all said the salads SUCKED. We had to fight with the manager!
Tomato chefs need to taste their food before sending them out - they would realize how horrible it is on the taste buds...ABSOLUTELY NO TINGLING THERE!And the manager/co-owner has to stop being a big dingwit and listen to her patrons.
This was the worst restaurant experience I've ever had. Our server was practically nonexistent all night. We waited forever for apps and entered. The food was not good. My friend sent back 2 different salads because they were discusting. How do you mess up 2 salads?? We were shocked by the rudeness of the manager! Instead of apologizing for the gross food she went on to defend their chefs and ingredients and refused to comp her salad. We argued that (yes it came to that) it's one thing to dislike an entree but when the whole group has tasted that item and all agree that it's not good, why argue that? Bottom line is the food is way over priced and tastes terrible, the service was bad but top it all off the manager who is apparently co-owner was rude and needs to learn a thing or 2 about customer service!
